    • 2011 NE Top Prospect Showcase Report:
"Alexander Wichmann is a 2012 OF/RHP, UT with a 6-0 178 lb. frame from Granby, CT who attends Millbrook School. Lean, projectable build with athleticism and room to fill. Smooth fielding the ball in the outfield with balance and good body control. Slight hook in back but arm comes thru well with quickness. Arm shows carry and projects for more strength in the future. Left-handed batter with a straight stance at the plate. Active pre-swing with slight hand hitch and leg kick trigger. Short swing on a line drive plane with looseness and extension in his swing. Line drive swing plane with easy contact. Very good student. PG Grade 7.5"

    • It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Alex Wichmann. I had the privilege of coaching Alex this past summer on the Simsbury American Legion Baseball team. Alex started in our Legion program the summer of 2009 on our U17 team and this past summer he was promoted to the U19 team and contributed greatly. Alex has displayed great work ethic, a positive attitude, and the potential to elevate his game to the next level. During the summer baseball season, Alex served primarily as our right/left fielder. He also had the opportunity to pitch some meaningful innings. I knew that I could count on Alex to arrive to every game ready to play and contribute to the team in whatever role was needed for each particular day. His stats for the summer can be found at our team website: www.allprosoftware.net/simsburyamericanlegionbaseball I think you will be pleased with his numbers which will help in further understanding his contributions to our team. When reviewing his stats, please take into consideration that we play in a very competitive all wooden bat league. I have high expectations for Alex, and I am counting on him to help carry our team next summer to another state tournament berth. I highly recommend him for any program looking for a quality baseball player and highly respected teammate. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

    • I have known Alex Wichmann since 2008, his freshman year at Granby Memorial High School. He is likable and personable, and he is very dedicated to whatever he is involved in.Last year, as an eleventh grader, Alex came into his own to become a confident, aggressive ballplayer. He led the team in batting with a .429 average, and in hits with 27. He was usually our cleanup hitter, as he came through with 17 RBI’s while striking out only four times. Alex had a .467 OB Pct., with seven extra base hits. As a pitcher, he served primarily as our closer. He was 2-2, with a 4.62 ERA in nine appearances. In the field, Alex played in the outfield and at 3B, based on the team’s needs. He played each position very well, as he gets good jumps on balls, and has an outstanding arm. Academically at Granby Memorial High School, Alex consistently earned top grades with positive teacher comments which included being enrolled in several classes at the advanced level. It has been a pleasure interacting with Alex as his baseball coach. He is trustworthy, responsible and dependable. He has the integrity and fortitude to do what is right. Alex has accepted the opportunity to play at Millbrook Prep in New York for the 2010-2011 season. His presence and all that he brought to our ballclub will be sorely missed next year. His baseball skills, academic ability and personal qualities will make him an outstanding addition to the program at Millbrook.

    • Alex has great hands, good pop and great poise on the hill. In 2010 Alex repeated his junior year at Millbrook to become bigger, stronger and to be better prepared for college. Alex has one of the quietest heads during his quick swing that I have seen and I expect him to be an all leaguer for me.
