I thought the Skill Show piece of the recruiting process was a very important part of the overall recruiting toolbox. It gave coaches who had seen Patrick play additional opportunities to review his skills. For those coaches that did not see Patrick play it provided them an opportunity to see Patrick in action. I wanted to first let you know that my son, Nathan LaPointe has accepted a scholarship to play Division 1 Baseball in the ACC with Boston College for the 2011 season . It is thanks to folks like you and the Perfect Game USA network that played a significant role in Nathan's development and athletic accomplishments. We joined with Skill Show when Nathan was a sophomore in high-school and played with TCB in Connecticut MA. We considered several companies before we decided on using Skillshows to shoot Tonya's softball video. Several factors came into play on why we selected Skillshow. They were very professional from the actual shooting of the video, down to editing and the quick turnaround when it came to having the final video ready for the colleges to view online. Being able to add Tonya's academic and athletic information as well as adding her travel ball team and her high school links were crucial. Not all colleges are able to see an athlete in person; therefore well made videos play a major role in getting athletes recruited. Tonya had 7 great offers off of her Skillshows Video alone, 3 of these schools Tonya chose to go on "official visits" in which she signed her National Letter of Intent during the early signing period (11/09) with Eastern New Mexico University. We received several compliments stating that "this was one of the best videos they have seen". Professional quality, no frills, no hand picked music, just the athlete's skills. The colleges liked that Tonya could send an introduction letter and include her skills video athletic ID number and they could immediately click on the Skillshow link, enter the ID number and up popped her video with all the information the colleges needed. Skillshow played a huge role in the scholarship Tonya received to Eastern New Mexico University. Having Skillshow shoot Tonya's video was the best decision we made.
